PRELIMINARY ENVIRONMENTAL SITE ANALYSIS (PESA)
All too often, the development plan of a project is restricted and timelines are delayed due to environmental constraints and regulations on specified natural resources.  ERI is now providing a formal site background review service that harnesses the spatial analysis power of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).  Coupled with over 50 years of environmental consulting, ERI has the experience to “visualize” onsite conditions and interpret the output of the GIS analysis. This service will provide a professional environmental feasibility study that can be tailored to meet the needs of the project and answer questions beyond the general review of “resource maps”.

ERI’s site analysis service focuses on three broad topics listed below:

REGULATED NATURAL RESOURCES SOILS MITIGATION AREA SELECTION
  • Nontidal Wetlands and Waterways
  • Tidal Wetlands
  • Subaqueous Lands
  • Forest Conservation
  • Critical Areas
  • FEMA Floodplains
  • Threatened and Endangered Species
  • Soil Series Classification/Decision Matrix
  • Feasibility for Onsite Waste Water Disposal
  • Interpretation for Storm Water Facilities
  • Three Tier Approach
    1. Study Area Delineation
    2. Site Selection
    3. Site Ranking

This service can be used to quickly identify and quantify the environmental constraints a particular site presents.  Developers and individual land owners who would like to develop, can employ the expertise of ERI during the project pre-planning phase to evaluate the landscape regarding regulated natural resources and identify suitable land development areas.  Completing this process can help to avoid and/or minimize regulatory delays.
Depending on the complexity of the site and requested level of detail, ERI can provide a fast turnaround to keep your planning process on schedule.  A desktop analysis can be completed within a day and provide information for quick decision making, or if more detail is required ERI can provide a site walk-through to confirm the desktop analysis.
